What’s Holding You Back?

What’s Holding You Back?

Are you giving your very best, and find that it isn’t enough to help you make your dreams a reality?

If you answered yes, You’re not alone. There is a growing movement toward unity, a desire to make a difference, a desire to align what we feel inwardly with our outer experiences.

I expect you know at least one individual who heard their inner call to stand up and step forward to become part of the solution. One person can make a huge difference.

Cathy Salser, a painfully shy art teacher, found her life calling in the most unexpected way. One summer, she felt a strong inner urge to travel across the United States, sharing art projects at domestic violence shelters. In return, she would spend the night. It was a crazy plan. Why not just stay at a hotel, like other people?

As she grappled with this strange impulse, she met with a friend – I’ll call her an advocate – who just listened. As they walked and talked together, her advocate encouraged Cathy to follow her inner promptings. Thank goodness she did! The ripple effect of that one inner urge, bravely followed long ago, has touched the lives of thousands and thousands of people.

Today, Cathy and A Window Between Worlds (www.awbw.org) are celebrating their 20th year of using the creative arts to help end the cycle of domestic violence. As she mastered her inner game – prompted by a desire to serve something bigger than herself or her fears – she overcame her shyness, mastered her terror of speaking publicly, and
grew an amazing team who could help her do what she couldn’t do alone.

Cathy did what great leaders do. She stepped forward and said “yes” when she saw the need. She didn’t know how, she just knew she needed to take the next step. In doing that, she embarked on a lifelong willingness to master her inner game. Last year, 60,000 participants in 25 states received the gifts made possible because Cathy learned to trust her inner knowing that said, “Do this.” And she did,one step at a time

Cathy became the woman she needed to be in order to lead the only national organization to provide free art leader training and art supplies to domestic violence shelters in the United States. A consummate and articulate leader, today Cathy is a shining example of someone dedicated to mastering her inner game for outer success.

If one person can make such a difference in her world, so can you!

Whether your path is to impact the world or heal your past, there is one key that unlocks the door to making your dreams a reality. That key is the willingness to master your inner game.

Wise teachers throughout the ages have offered a solution that is as potent today as it was during the time of Socrates. He said, “Know Thyself.” It’s simple, not easy.

What’s holding you back? Are you waiting for the perfect time to start?

Just breathe and consider this:

The only secure future you can ever have is the one you create. The way you create is to cooperate with your inner blueprint for success.”
